1. What Battery Connection provides
Battery Connection assists users in identifying battery types and matching them with compliant disposal or recycling options. Battery Connection facilitates routing to accredited third-party free schemes (e.g., B-cycle, Mobile Muster, NTCRS, ABRI) for standard consumer units, while offering direct request management for paid collection services across all battery chemistries, including bulk industrial, lead-acid, EV, and energy storage systems.
Submitting a paid collection request or quote enquiry through this site is a pre-contractual inquiry only. It does not create a binding contract, obligation, or agreed price until confirmed directly and separately between you and us.
Battery Connection is an informational and referral tool. We are not a licensed waste transporter, and submitting a request through this site does not guarantee collection, purchase, or any specific outcome until confirmed directly by us.
2. Battery identification is a guide only
Any battery type identified by photo (using automated image recognition) or selected manually is provided as general guidance only. It is not a substitute for your own judgement or professional advice, and may not always be accurate. You are responsible for confirming the battery type and following any safety instructions (such as taping terminals and safe transport) before handling or transporting a battery.
If a battery is damaged, swollen, leaking, or hot: do not rely on this app. Do not attempt to transport it. Seek appropriate professional or emergency assistance immediately.
3. Pricing and quotes
Any pricing, cost estimates, or "free" designations shown in the app are indicative only and may change. Where a collection or purchase involves a quote, the price is not confirmed until agreed directly between you and us (or, where applicable, a recycling partner). All prices shown are in Australian dollars.
4. Third-party links and services
Battery Connection links to third-party schemes and organisations (including B-cycle, Mobile Muster, NTCRS, ABRI, and any approved, regulated battery recycler we choose to work with). We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, availability, or practices of these third parties, and your use of their services is subject to their own terms and privacy policies.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information through any form on this site.
- Use the site for any unlawful purpose.
- Attempt to interfere with, disrupt, or gain unauthorised access to the site or its underlying systems.
We may decline to act on a request, or restrict access to the site, where we reasonably believe these terms have been breached.
6. No guarantee of availability
We aim to keep Battery Connection available and functioning correctly but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. We may update, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Hansen Recycling and Consulting excludes all liability for any loss or damage (including indirect or consequential loss) arising from your use of, or reliance on, Battery Connection, including any inaccuracy in battery identification, disposal guidance, or pricing information. Nothing in these terms excludes any consumer guarantee or right under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded.
8. Intellectual property
The Battery Connection name, logo, and website content are owned by Hansen Recycling and Consulting unless otherwise stated. You may not reproduce, copy, or use these without our permission.
9. Privacy
Our collection and use of personal information through Battery Connection is set out in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms of Use from time to time. Continued use of the site after changes are published constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of South Australia, Australia, and you submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of its courts.
